A garage door is normally the biggest single moving object in your house. It is vital when choosing a new garage door that you are assured of the safety of the product and that the mechanism chosen can operate well and safely in your home.
Remember nearly 20% of the frontage of a standard property is taken up by a garage door so choosing the right style and gearing option for your new or replacement garage door is important.
Up & Over - Generally the most cost effective door option “Up and Over doors" are also relatively easy to install but offer virtually no thermal resistance due to the panel construction and the gaps around the panel allowing the door to move during its opening and closing cycles. Available in almost any size from 6'6" to over 16' wide and between 6' to over 8' high.
Sectional doors - Available in three panel variations Classic (single skinned) Standard and Premium. Both the Standard and Premium doors are insulated. Insulated versions also have seals between the panels and therefore, offer greater thermal performance.
Roller Doors - Roller doors use a unique spring-balanced system with an integral electric operator. The insulated lathes are constructed from twin wall aluminium with a PU foam fill. Whilst the lathes used to construct this door are insulated, the door only provides slightly better performance than a standard Up & Over door due to the tolerances required within the guide channels and at the lintel.
